Senior Engineer
Overview
A company building AI for customer conversations is hiring a Senior Engineer to be the technical backbone of its real-time conversations platform. The role involves owning customer requirements to live deployments, improving voice/chat/video infrastructure, and ensuring conversations feel human. It reports to the Technical Director and offers high autonomy in a fast-moving startup environment.

Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and ship features across the real-time conversations platform, including telephony, orchestration, agent tooling, and integrations.
Work directly with customers to understand needs, scope solutions, and manage deployments from kickoff to go-live.
Test thoroughly and handle edge cases to ensure quality before customer delivery.
Own production reliability, including monitoring, incident response, and post-incident fixes.
Maintain security and compliance standards aligned with ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
Write clear technical documentation and customer-facing guidance/release notes.
Collaborate with the Technical Director and sales team to align engineering work with customer needs and company priorities.
Must Have
Experience with real-time voice, chat, or video infrastructure.
Background in customer-facing technical roles or direct customer interaction.
Proven ability to manage production reliability and incident response.
Familiarity with security and compliance standards like ISO 27001 or Cyber Essentials.
Strong technical documentation skills.
Good to Have
Experience with telephony integrations or carriers like Gamma.
Knowledge of orchestration tools or agent tooling.
Startup experience with high autonomy and fast-paced environments.
Understanding of latency optimization and natural turn-taking in conversations.
